Happy New Year everyone!
Below is a link to the prayers, Bible readings and sermon which were used in the Lunenburg Lutheran Parish on this day.
Today we remembered the Epiphany, the story from Matthew’s Gospel of the visit to the child Jesus and his family by the Magi (usually called the “wise men”). It seems like such a simple story, but there are layers which make it a significant challenge.
Which means, of course, that it’s probably an important story for us to contemplate!
Normally, the Festival of the Epiphany is remembered on January 6th of each year, but we moved it so that we could reflect on it as a congregation in our Sunday worship.
God’s richest blessings to you in 2024.
